One of the first questions I asked my self when I first started out on the net was: Should I buy web site traffic? I did not know the answer then, but now I have developed a rather strong opinion on the matter.

I have definitely bought my share of traffic. It just is not worth it, at least not for a beginner. Trust me, I know how desperately you want traffic for your web site. I have been there, but the truth is that the traffic you buy is not as valuable as you might think. Alslo, there are way to many hustlers out there who want your cash. Do not give it to them.

If you are patient and use your time resarching instead of throwing money out the window, the traffic will show up. There are countless ways to generate traffic for free. What you need to do is to plant seeds. Lots of them! Your traffic might not show up today or tomorrow, but if you plant enough seeds this year, I promise you will harvest the fruits of it next year.

There are lots of methods that can give you some traffic right away, but if you want thousands of visitors to your website or blog on a daily basis you need to be consistent in what you do. Set a goal for your self and stick to the plan, no matter what. I will give a couple of free methods that you can start doing right away:

- Write a preset amount of posts in different forums every day. Most forums will allow you to put a link to your web site in the signature.
- Write one article every day and post it to different article-directories.
- Write comments in guest books. But make sure you write something with meaning. No one likes a spammer.

If you do the three things mentioned above every day, there is no doubt that you will get traffic. In the beginning you might not see a difference, but give it some time and be consistent. Your numbers will go through the roof.

There are of course many more free traffic-generating methods. Do a lot of research and test everything you can get your hands on, but do not pay for something you can get for free.
